SNOC Wednesday Race
Policies
The specific policies for the Wednesday Races have
been unclear to many, including those of us involved in running these
races. The purpose of this is to clearly
state what our policies are so that they are administered equally to all.
- To
participate in the SNOC Wednesday races, you must be a member of
SNOC. Forms are available at all of
the races or online at: http://stowetimes.org/snoc/membership.htm. The only exceptions to this are as
follows:
- Individuals: If not a SNOC member, the first race is
free (assuming you have never participated in a Wednesday race before),
then the fee is $5 per race
- Teams: The first race is not free for teams
but they get a “volume” discount and pay $4 per team member ($50
max). This does not apply to our
local Stowe
High School team
who can race for free. Also, at
away venues (i.e. Craftsbury), the local high school team(s) can also
race for free. If you are planning
to bring more than 5 people, please contact Ed Miller (EdInVermont@gmail.com) at least 2
days in advance so we can prepare (we may ask for assistance in bib sorting
and timing).
- Employees
of the all of the hosting touring centers can race for free.
- Timing: There are two timers required for each
race. If at 12:00 on the day of a
race there are not two timers signed up, the race will be cancelled, no
exceptions. The list of timers is
now being kept up to date and can be found at: http://stowetimes.org/snoc/results2010/2010
Wed Races.htm. You can sign up
at the races or contact Ed Miller (EdInVermont@gmail.com).
- Temperature: We will follow both FIS and BKL
standards. For BKL age kids (13 and
under) it is not recommended that they participate if the temperature is
below +4F. The race will be
cancelled if the temperature is below -4F (FIS)
